If you’ve spent your pandemic on the socials you will be very familiar with Eleanor Morton her short videos entertained thousands stuck at home and many peoples only positive memory of that time will include discovering her, despite her English middle class accent she is Scottish perhaps she is the chosen one who will bring balance to this U.K.
The Venue is intimate well air conditioned and freshly painted, the audience were in good spirits and within moments Eleanor had command of the stage gently focussing the audience on a tantric “Fuck it” to ease any lack of distancing, as we are all back to attending shows and queues.
Her set reminds me of a Prog rock album, very well written nuanced and acerbic bites at the state of the country delivered deftly as to not offend, keen to let us know she has been doing stand up for at least 12 years, in 2019 her fringe show “Post Morton” was considered one of the picks of the fringe her story is uniqueand fascinating but what is traditional is her stage presence, timing and delivery she will soon be a regular on T.V. and could easily fill larger venues but for now go see her, I left smiling, fully entertained with new knowledge about Jackie Chan and Calcium.
